Swansea Philharmonic Choir is delighted to announce that its recent memorial charity concert in honour of Susan Croall has raised a total of £1,206 for the Ty Olwen Hospice. The event, which brought together friends, family, and music lovers to celebrate Susan’s life and legacy, originally saw concert proceeds reach £257. In a gesture of appreciation for Susan’s long-standing connection to the choir and the local community, the Choir elected to increase this contribution to £600.
This total was further bolstered by the incredible generosity of the audience. A bucket collection held on the night raised an additional £606, bringing the final grand total to over £1,200.
The accompanying photograph captures the presentation of the donation. Pictured in the centre is the Choir Chair, Hazel Phillips, alongside Paul Murray, Vice-Chairman of the Trust, and Mrs. Helen Murray MBE, the long-standing Chairman of the Ty Olwen Trust.
Ty Olwen holds a special place in the hearts of many in Swansea, providing invaluable palliative care and support. The Choir extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, performed, and donated to make this tribute such a resounding success. These contributions ensure that Susan’s memory continues to support a cause that remains vital to the community.
