Swansea Philharmonic Choir sings for Wales Air Ambulance

A Welsh Philharmonic Choir group has raised over £1,000 for Wales Air Ambulance by holding a charity concert in aid of the helicopter charity.

Swansea Philharmonic Choir held a charity concert in June to raise money for Wales Air Ambulance as well as the All Saints Church, a picturesque church nestled in the heart of Mumbles.

Past and present students of Gower College gathered to perform renditions of Mozart and Bruckner to a crowd in the All Saints Church in Oystermouth, on 13 June.

Jonathan Rogers conducted the charity summer concert to raise the vital funds for Wales Air Ambulance, as well as the All Saints Church.

Wales Air Ambulance rely on fundraising to keep their helicopters flying, requiring £6 million each year to maintain their lifesaving services across Wales.

The Swansea Philharmonic Choir raised a fantastic total of £1,165 for the helicopter charity, and presented their donation to Critical Care Practitioner, Chris Connor, at Swansea air base on the 18 September.

Paul Canning, WAA South Wales Fundraising Coordinator, said: “I would like to thank the Swansea Philharmonic Choir for raising an amazing donation for Wales Air Ambulance.

“It is amazing that the choir was able to draw upon their passion and talent to raise money for charity!

“Events like the one organized by Swansea Philharmonic Choir are incredibly valuable to Wales Air Ambulance, as we rely entirely on donations to raise the money to fund our three helicopters in the North, Mid and South of Wales.”
