Swansea Philharmonic Choir is proud to record that its accompanist, Susan Croall, has completed 50 years in that role.
No-one is actually sure exactly when the 50 years’ line was crossed, but it is believed that is was in November / December 2020. Not even Susan is sure when the milestone was reached. This shows an immense dedication to music and Susan has always been so well prepared for each rehearsal. It looks effortless, but we all recognise that a huge amount of preparation has taken place. So often, the person at the piano at a rehearsal is overlooked, but choir members respect Susan’s professional approach in helping us prepare for concerts.
The Lord Mayor of Swansea has sent his personal recognition of this musical milestone. Earlier in 2020, Susan was awarded the British Empire Medal in recognition of her contribution to music more widely in Swansea.
