Swansea Philharmonic Choir performed Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace and Paul Mealor’s Stabat Mater in the Brangwyn Hall on 9th April 2022.
The Choir received excellent support from the British Sinfonietta and soloist Stephanie Smith.
Hazel Phillips the choir’s chair said: “Our concert in the Brangwyn was outstanding. I feel that the choir, the orchestra and our soloist, Stephanie Smith, worked really well together to give a memorable performance. It was very moving and a privilege to sing together. We must thank our conductor, Jonathan Rogers, for setting high standards for us as a choir and making such a difference”.
During the concert, the choir performed The Prayer for Ukraine in recognition of the situation in Ukraine. There was a retiring collection together with funds raised by the choir which totalled £1,122.63 which has been donated to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
The Choir would like to thank all those behind the scenes who made the evening such a success as well as to our audience for their continued support.
