On 14th June 2025 at the Swansea Minster (St Mary’s Church) the Swansea Philharmonic Choir with the British Sinfonietta and soloist Rhian Carys Jones, conducted by Jonathan Rogers, performed Sir Karl Jenkin’s ‘Stabat Mater’ and a selection of other reflective choral works.
The Minster provided a perfect setting for the occasion, with its acoustics and atmosphere enhancing the emotional depth of the music. We were especially honoured to receive a message from Sir Karl Jenkins himself, wishing us a “successful, moving and inspiring evening.”
Hazel Phillips, our Chair, reflected on the event: “The feedback was very positive, and it was a joy to be part of.” Also, she praised the performance, saying, “The orchestra and soloist were superb.”
